«I had been wanting to start a Pilates class for a long time…I did not have a Pilates background and signed up for three private sessions to boost my confidence up enough to be in class. The classes are small enough that you feel support from each of the knowledgeable instructors. They will guide you throughout the class to ensure you are doing the movements safely and correctly…Pilates has definitely benefited me physically by making my body stronger, but it also boosts my emotional well-being.”

What should I wear?
Please wear comfortable workout clothes allowing you a full range of motion. Leggings or biking shorts are recommended.
For men, please wear leggings underneath your shorts. Socks and gloves with grips are required for all sessions and classes.
You may bring your own or purchase some in the studio. Shoes are not worn during Pilates.
What can I expect in my first Pilates Session?
You will be introduced to a Pilates Reformer. Most of the First Introductory Class exercises will be done laying on your back
on a moving platform. Some beginners find this a little disorienting at first but become more confident and comfortable with
the equipment by their second session.
You might feel uncoordinated. Learning to use new muscles and equipment is difficult; when you add coordinating your arms and
legs simultaneously (and in different directions) while maintaining control and balance on the Reformer machine, it can make
even the strongest athletes feel uncoordinated. You are asking your body to do a lot of things at the same time, and you
will improve over time. Your Instructor will make sure that all exercises you learn are safe and appropriate for your
fitness level.
You may not break a sweat. And may not be sore after your first session. Pilates gets harder the more you do it and the stronger you get. You must first learn how to connect your small, under-used muscles, not only your big “to-go” muscles. Not sore? Don’t give up!
Pilates can seem overwhelming and underwhelming at first, but just after 2-3 sessions you will get more comfortable and begin to feel the difference in your body.
How many people are in class?
Up to 7 people on the Reformers
How often should I practice?
Consistency is key! Our clients usually see the best results when practice at least 2-3 times a week.
What can I expect once I complete my introductory package of 3 private sessions?
You can join the Beginner level group Pilates Reformer class, or if you’re not ready , consider adding extra private sessions.
